Assurance of Voluntary Compliance & LEAP Contribution
Wellington North Power Inc. (WNP) submitted an Assurance of Voluntary Compliance to the energy regulator, the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) confirming that the utility did not have Green Button ready and accessible to its customers by/on November 1, 2023, as required by Ontario Regulation 633/21. WNP implemented Green Button on November 16, 2023.
The OEB has accepted WNP’s Assurance of Voluntary Compliance (EB-2023-0347). Under the terms, WNP will pay $3,500 to the local agency implementing the Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) which provides emergency financial assistance to low-income citizens in the utility’s service territory.
