The Ontario government’s EV ChargeON program provides funding for the installation of public electric vehicle (EV) chargers in Ontario communities. EV ChargeON aims to:

• Increase the number of public EV charging stations throughout Ontario to build a more connected network.
• Make public chargers more accessible and affordable.
• Encourage more people to switch to EVs.

The Program is administered by the Ontario Vehicle innovation Network (OVIN) and aims to improve network coverage of EV fast chargers to reduce range anxiety by filling existing gaps and support long-distance travel.

EV ChargeON is a competitive, application-based grant program offering up to 25-75% of capital funding through post-construction rebates (eligible expenses include capital expenses, external professional services and environmental assessments & studies). Level 2 and Level 3 public Charging Stations are eligible for funding in amounts that are proportional to Charger’s power output. The Program is open to eligible public and private sector applicants.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants, located and operating in Ontario, include:

• Businesses.
• Not-for-profit corporations.
• Municipal governments.
• Indigenous communities, organizations or businesses.
• Broader public sector organizations (like hospitals, universities and colleges).

Applications will be accepted from November 3, 2025 to December 15, 2025 until 5 p.m. EST.
