2021 Cost of Service application
Your local hydro company, Wellington North Power Inc. (WNP), is applying to the energy regulator, the Ontario Energy Board, to adjust its’ electricity distribution rates effective May 1, 2021.
Your local hydro company, Wellington North Power Inc. (WNP), is applying to the energy regulator, the Ontario Energy Board, to adjust its’ electricity distribution rates effective May 1, 2021. If the application is approved, a typical residential customer of WNP will see an increase of approximately $2.13 per month (or 1.7% above a current bill) and a typical small business customer will see an increase of approximately $9.72 per month (or 3.0%).
The application, which is being filed in October 2020 with the Ontario Energy Board, is called a “Cost of Service” and involves the setting and approval of new rates based on the value of the utility’s assets and the costs incurred in providing service to its’ customers.
